I am receiving this error after trying to run a program, as a matter of fact any program, what could cause this and how do you go about getting rid of it?-

Scott, are you using Win98 or XP? Make sure that you fully update Win98's runtime libraries and directx if your using that OS.

Hey, I see your username is Gopack1. Are we talkin' football, as in the green & gold, as in the GreenBay Packers? Just thought I'd ask

I just got the board back from shopbot, the board fried, and i installed it again, hooked it up, turned it on , started the shopbot exe. and got that error. my first error was a communications error, which i fixed, but the runtime error 5 pops up no mater what i do.. almost sounds like a currupt file or something.

I recently had a driver replaced and got nothing when I hooked it up. Shopbot Tech support had me reload the firmware. They said that they usually test them with the latest firmware they have which may a beta. After relaoding the firmware, all was again right with the world. It might be worth a try.

Wayne's suggestion is a good place to start.

Scott R.,
I have witnessed at least 3 Win2K computers that would not connect to a PRT using SB3. It *may* work if you update to Service Pack 5, but my advice would be to load up XP and be done with it. Hopefully this will save you the time and headaches of trying to get Win2k to work.
