I was doing a maintenance check on my 48 x48 prs alpha and noticed the lower wheel on the left side on the YZ car was loose enough to spin using just my finger, and I could detect some slop when moving the spindle by hand. The other wheels were solid.

It was only loose when moving from (Y=0) to (Y=10 or 12, or so). From there on to (Y=48) the wheel would be solid enough to take the slop out of the spindle when I tried to move it on my own and the wheel was solid.

Any suggestions/comments on what is going on here?

Thanks,
Bob Fain

Could be the left rail (that the car rides on) is out of plane with the other rail. Not sure what vintage machine. Older ones had mild steel rails, that need to be "dressed" periodically, especially if you do most of your cutting in that quadrant. If it is hardened, doubtful its worn. Something has changed/loosened, and it has dropped, perhaps the machine was moved from original position and the floor isn't even/level.
