While I was off site, I got a call that the shopbot would not home in the X or Y axis. The operator said that the shopbot would only go to a 0,0 location in the middle of the table. (limit switches are what I would describe as bottom left of X/Y strokes)

This had me baffled because my understanding of the home sequence is that the shopbot has no concept of where zero is until it sees the limit switch. That limit switch then allows the home process to happen and a zero axis position defined.

Anyways, the problem was fixed before I was able to get on site.

Do I misunderstand the homing sequence? Is there a stroke limit to how far the axis will travel looking for a home prox switch?
