Hi All, I am still getting good performance from a model ShopBot used to call the PR32. It's a UniStrut model they made for me in 1998, and it is stiil going strong.
Well, except for the Z-Axis. Over the years, the ball nut has lost quite a few of its small ball bearings. I have replacement bearings on the way from McMaster Carr. However, it appears that there may still be a bit more play in the nut than there should be.
I'm hoping someone has spare parts, or has upgraded their drive and might have one of these available.
Here's the specs on the part I hope to replace...
Warner Electric RH Square Ballnut.
Original Part Number (stamped on side of part): 9826 W.E.RQ-0605
Apparently, Warner Electric was bought out by Thompson Linear, and the new part number was RQ0605-2, and later became 8106-448-010.
I would prefer to buy a new one, but they are difficult to find. So, I would be happy with a used one, if anyone has one available.
Also, it would be nice to replace the ball screw at this time too. My original one is 12" long, 15/16-16 UN-2A thread, .20 inch pitch, right hand thread. I'm not sure my ball screw is worn, but it's 26 years old and has seen a lot of use. Specs on this screw show a nominal O.D. of .625", and mine is measuring about .620".
Thanks!
Steve
