I have an older PR Shopbot, and changed to a newer computer (XP) to run it with. I would like to use a newer version of the control software, but it runs the tool in super slow motion, even though it seems to be communicating with the tool. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change to make this work?

ARE YOU WORKING IN A DOS WINDOW INSIDE XP? THE ORIGIANAL SYSTEM WAS WIN98

Yes, I am working in a DOS window inside XP. Apparently this is not how this program is intended to work, I was just wondering if anyone had figured out a way to make it work. Eventually, I am going to convert this machine to Mach3, but for now, I would like to get it to work with what I've got.

GO TO THE WINDOWS TASK MANAGER AND KILL OTHER APPLICATIONS. WITH YOUR SB SOFTWARE RUNNING A PROGRAM, GO TO THE PROCESSES TAB AND SEE WHAT APPLICATIONS ARE USING WHAT PERSENTAGE OF THE PROCESSOR. THAT IS THE FIRST PLACE TO LOOK. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR DOS PROGRAM IS RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND AND NOT GETTING PROCESSOR PRIORITY. HOPE THIS HELPS. TONY AAASIGN.com INDIANAPOLIS

I'm not sure, but I thought that XP was not able to run a DOS session and that in order to do so, you needed to be using Win98.

Throw that PR controller in the trash and upgrade to a PRT controller. It uses windows and works.

I upgraded my PR to the 4g and I put it against my PRS standard and it will be real close. Not quit as fast but just a little more accurate.
