Thought???
I'm leaning towards the basic. I design in Solidworks and am looking for something cheap but with more features then the Mill Wizard I already own. While on the subject, how do we like Rhino. I could get it and it comes with it's version of Visual Mill.

Thanks
Frank

Hi Frank,
Rhino is one of my favorite programs, I use it for all my 3D work ( guitars, furniture). I used Millwizard for a couple of years and really liked it for what it does ( raster 3d cutting). I then bought Visuallmill basic, which does what Millwizard does and a lot more. All my 2D & 3D toolpaths are made in Visualmill. I'm very happy with the CAM part of that program but I don't try and draw or design in it at all, it's not very good for that. I think they have solved those issues by merging the program into RhinoCam. Since I got used to two separate programs I haven't moved to RhinoCam yet, but I own it (probably will change to it sometime). I haven't felt the need to go to the Pro version, I think the basic does really well.

http://rhinocam.com/ They came out with something new Rhinoart time will tell. The one goog thing is that if you get the basic version, when you upgrade to pro the price will be deducted. And you will continue with same software and what you have learn will still apply. Version 6 of vm sould be coming out soon? that is when they have their special.Last time it was half price. From what I read on this forum,RhinoCam is better than ArtCam at slicing and 4 axis
