Found something that may fix those jpgs.

I had a scan that I need ed to convert and the quality was not there. it ended up with a lot of unconnected spots. you have seen ragged edges on images and such. well I know jack about photoshop but I found I chose filter then sketch then photocopy. this filled in the lines really well and darked them up. it improved the bitmap trades 1000%

I used inkscape to darken the lines and here is what i got for results. If you are not proficient with apps like photoshop (like me) this might work for you. It only took about 30 seconds and was easy to do. It might look bad here because of the size restrictions.
