Convert SBP to G-code or DXF

I would like to be able to see a visual representation of what the SBP file is to cut. I can generate that from just about anything but SBP. Any converters, suggestions.

download the newest software that runs the shopbot. it's free and has a built in previewer.
it works wonders.

I appreciate the response, but, unless I am missing something, all I see is the lines representing the cut path, not a visual representation of what the cut would look like.

The VS3D software has a tool path previewer that shows you (as a light-source shaded surface) the results (tool grooves) left on the surface by your proposed cutting path.

And VS3D utilizes the results of previous passes when applying subsequent finishing passes on the surface.

VS3D does not import ShopBot files, but can output them, in addition to G-Code.

So VS3D could be a good solution for you if you want to load (or design) the basic surface in VS3D and generate your tool paths from there.

Hey Donn I to wanted to see my sbp file and convert to dxf I use Quik Grid from www.perspectiveedge.com (http://www.perspectiveedge.com) .First copy and paste your file to a new folder in case.Open your file in wordpad remove the first line sa and last j2. Then replace m3, by nothing or remove all m3, Then this file extention will turn from sbp to txt . rename the extention .dxf .in Quik Grid input scattered data points then input dxf data point.from there export as dxf or dxf 3d face file.

I should perhaps have been more specific in my initial post. I would like to import already created SBP files and view what their cut would look like. I've tried a beta program supplied by SB, but have inconsistent results at best.

Normand, thanks for the pointer. I will look into Quik Grid. When I went to the site, it looked like it might even help in my goal to cut topo reliefs.

Regarding topo reliefs -

VS3D can import (and cut) US Geological Survey DEM (Digital Elevation Model) files.
