If anyone would like a high quality, low cost solution for sheet layout optimization, board-feet calculations and cost estimating, check out CutList Plus (http://cutlistplus.com/default.aspx). I've been using it for several years now and it's really a great program for the price! I just received my upgrade to the latest version and I must say that they have done an excellent job.
At this time, it doesn't provide for exporting layouts to .dxf, but it's in the works. For those of us that process sheet goods on a daily basis, or from time to time, this would be a bonus feature while still keeping that software budget under control.
