Would Inventor be a good program to use for design or would it not be very good for CNC?
Thanks for any input.

I am using inventor to design cabinets. The parametric abilities of the program save alot of time. It takes awhile to program the initial cabinets, but the end result is faster and more accurate than drawing individually by hand.

after the files are programmed, I export to autocad dwg, and then export a 2nd time (dxf) to vcarve pro, part wizard, or partworks.

I have been very satisfied with this program

I concur, I use it for designing furniture and when a client needs to see a piece in 3D. It's a great program, however it does have a steep learning curve. If you are familiar with Autocad then it shouldn't be to steep. If you're new to parametric CAD there might be some other programs that are bit more intuitive to learn, but Inventor is about as robust a program there is, and it comes with Autocad.

I use Inventor daily and would be glad to help out if anyone hits a wall.
