View Full Version : Z-Brush: Amazing software but can we use it?

I've downloaded the free demo version of Z-Brush and it's a very cool 2D/3D program. It's won all sorts of awards. One of their main claims for fame is that each and every pixel (they call them pixols) that you create can contain not just color info, but depth info as well.

Have any other shopbotters tried this program, and if so, were you able to create anything that you output to your shopbot? I think it will export dxf but I don't know if it's compatible with computer aided manufacturing.

I haven't been able to figure out how to create anything with specific sizes.

I downloaded zbrush also. While running a demo, it terminated with an access violation. I wonder if it's ready for prime time.

I checked the documentation and it doesn't seem to support .dxf files, only bitmap (.bmp) files for windows.
