I need some help from those that know how to cut aluminum. I have only cut wood on my Shopbot so I know absolutely nothing about cutting aluminum with a CNC router. My bot has a 2hp spindle. I will be cutting T6 (6061) aluminum making multiple passes in one-inch plate. This is not something I plan to do with any frequency so I would like to keep cost down. What kind of bit should I use? Do I need a lubrication system? What speed should I run the spindle? How many inches per minute can I cut? Thanks for your Help!
