Any suggestions for surface milling MDF?
Tool Diameter? I was looking at the Onsurd 2 1/2" and 4" milling tools.
I am in South Florida and the humidity causes expansion in the MDF.
I need a good surface for fixturing small sheets of cast acrylic where small letters are being cut for signs.
I got Her-Saf (the%202"%20CED%20dual%20positive%20from%20http://www.hersaf.com/shop/index.php/action/category/id/7/subid/14/) and I am very happy with it.

Onsrud also makes a 1.25" fly cutter for Shopbots.

To qualify my initial post, I was wondering which diameter tool would give the best surface.Should I use an Upshear or a Straight cut tool?
Thanks for the support
The large the faster but I wouldn't chuck in anything larger than 2" CED... maybe up to 2-1/2" in special case.
Up, straight or down don't make much difference when it come to surfacing MDF or most common material. The tool I use is down shear (indexed carbide tipped) and it is supposed to work well for surfacing an old wood floor according to Her-Saf.
Before that, I was using an inch wide standard straight edges carbide tipped router bit; was about $20.00 usd... with 1 inch length of cut! Now with the 2" CED, I surface in about 8 minutes.
The products that Onsrud sell look good but they are about twice the price than others... I think I saw something for this purpose at Magnate Carbide...
