I have a job that asks for a small half round rope twist decorative moulding in ebony, ideally occupying 1 and 2 half sides of 4mm x 4mm square line - ie teeny. About 2.5 meters in all. The only tooling I can think of that might would be a fine 60deg V point with say .5mm ball on the end, but I cannot find in any of my catalogues.
Has anyone tried this?
Any suggestions as to tooling and software?
I have Millwizard, but don't think it would support such a cutter - would the Vcarve 3d offering do it?

Happy Christmas,

You can cut it in MW or Cut3D, but you'll need a good 3D file 1st. You should be able to get the detail you need with a 1mm to 3mm ball end mill.

Thanks Brady.
I can do the 3d file no problem. A 1mm ball mill would do, but the smallest I can find is 3.2mm, and I am looking for fine detail. I would be happy to buy from the US of A - I am in UK. Any suggestions?

No need for the US Ralph, you can get one from Nottingham:
