I am considering purchasing a CNC to fabricate solid surface. Does anyone use their shopbot to cut Corian or any other brand of solid surface? If so, how long have you been doing it? And are there any issues that you have run into?
Thank you for your help.

Gary,
I cut a limited amount of solid surface material on my Bot. It cuts beautifully. If I had a choice of materials to cut, it would be Corian/solid surface any day!

Cuts like butter, makes a huge mess. Invest in good dust collection. Ground everything well (electrical ground).

Gary:

I agree with Brady and Rob. I cut a small amount of Corian every now and then for a local custom cabinet shop and it is very easy to work with.

I cut Corian all the time. Speed of 100 ipm are the norm. Use a Onsrud 0-flute bit aand have fun.
I have a 3/4 hp dust collector and no dust on the table. The collector at the spindle is the most important part of the collection.
