Need Info. for cutting 3/4" melamine w/p.b. core and 3/4" mdf boards. Suggestions about tooling used, depth of cut per pass would also be helpful.

It works fine at 2in/sec on 3/4 mdf with a 1/4 spiral carbide bit.

That is 1 pass to cut btw.

thanks Rob. Can you tell me what speed the router or spindle is?

Its a Makita RF1100, at full speed, 24,000RPM
It makes a heck of a noise in the process, and
that is quite fast, so be prepared.

Shuttle,
I must ask you. Are you a carbide bit salesman? I read your cutter feed rate information and used a spiral 1/4" onsrud bit. I have a colombo 5 hp hf spindle set at 24000 rpm. Snapped that bit like a toothpick @ 1.75 ips. Please explain.

Best regards,

John
