The guys in this thread (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/messages/29/7400.html) could use one of these for kerf-cutting ply to bend it.

GREAT idea!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the whole concept.
But does the saw turn X and Y or even diagonally?

also could you post some close-up shots of the mount

thanks

This blade is great for carving it will go diagonaly but I have not tried it on the shopbot http://www.arbortech.com.au/productinfo/indkit.html

As I mentioned in the thread for the Southern California camp, one of the antendees there uses a "polishing machine" because of it's lower RPM, places a 6" blade in the arbor, and regularly cuts through 6/4 solid lumber in a single pass. Essentially it's a 'Bot beam saw...
PS. In fact it might even be Phil Mulligan who is the 'Botter that started this thread...Is that you Phil?

it does not turn yet working on it , i will put more pic up soon , it is the same mount as the makita router you just have to do a little grinding on it to make it fit

I am so slow to catch up with every one.
Is it too late to post this thread for Feb/05 question?
Nice piece, space saving for standup pannel saw.
1/. Phil, how do you ground the saw(Makita?)for Z zero? Does you clip the wire between the blade and the carrier, or another method?
2/. As the picture've be seen, you think you can make 90 degree rotation for Y travel rip?
I'd like to hear from you pls
Thanks,
Uncle Hai

Has anyone try to mount the Craftsman Twin Cutter on their Shopbot? It can cut both forward or backward equally well. The Twin Cutter has no kickback. It also can make pocket cuts by plunging into the material and moving forwards and backwards. The Twin Cutter has wide kerfs, would it be good for making dados? Wouldn’t this be lots less dangerous than a saw? Mark
