I just got an email from Tools Today about an Amana trimmer bit with a 1/4" shank but with a smaller 3/16" cutting diameter and bearing.

Looks like it could be handy for ShopBotters that cut with a 1/4" bit and use tabs to hold their parts in the sheet...the 3/16" cutting diameter won't bind in the 1/4" kerf and burn the way a standard laminate bit will.

I bought a few a while back so far so good. I had been using their 1/4" and the bearings did not last long because of forcing it through some tight spots.

I cut HDPE plastic and the little flaps that are created caused some problems with the old 1/4" size I have only used the 3/16" a couple times but it is aparent their is less strain on the bit and I never have to force it.

Time will tell how long the bearing lasts I ordered 2 cutters and an extra 10 bearings but they have been out of stock on the extra bearings and only sent 1.
