Cutting Depth HDU

How deep can you safely cut into 5lb HDU with a 1/2" ball nose bit in single pass.
I have to cut a contour into 2.25 inch material and would like to do in single pass if possible.

I've never heard of 5lb HDU, but even 15lb cuts like butter. You can cut single pass, maybe 2" per second should be good.

The material in question is being provided by customer, so I am not sure either.
