Well Doug Strickland has managed to do it again. He's raise the expecation of Botters everywhere, as to what I'm going to do at the Ada, Camp so high that anthing short of a spectacular presentation is going to be pure 100% failure.

I here to tell all you guys and gals the Donuts are top drawer and all the other folks doing presentation know what they are going to do, and will do a great job, but I don't have a clue what I'm in for. So you better lower your expectations about me, if you want to really enjoy the event.

Now, all that said, it would help me out a whole lot if you'all would choose one of the topics below. You could even add one or two. Just post it here, or E-Mail our leader Doug. Just let us know, PLEASE, I'm seating bullets over here.

Possible topics:

Panel design & Deoration on the computer.
Scrupt Noveau textures.
Beveling over letters. (My dumb way. Fast, Dirty & Pretty Good Too!)
Gilding with 23K
Woodgraining (Extension from last year)
Font Manupilation & Font Choices
---------------------------------?
---------------------------------?
---------------------------------?

Don't hesitate to suggest any topic, cause I have great backup, with Doug, Bill, & Gary. And if it gets too stickey, I'll just leave.

Beveling over letters would be cool, but tips in regards to bit choice, feeds and speeds would be excellent, along with any tips on material choices and finishing techniques. Creating a final finished product in the most productive and economical way tops my list.

Joe - I want to know how to make as much money as you do. Can you cover that, too?

Anyone that is considering going - Joe is a first class signman and will amaze you with the quality of his work.

Wish I could be at this one, but other obligations have me elsewhere.

Joe,
Your method of letter beveling would be quite interesting and make a good 'hands on' demo on Doug's shopbot if there is machine time available during the camp. Always good to do a little actual cutting for those attending the camp that don't yet have their shopbot.

Ken & NWA guys:
Per the normal, I will be here as long as anyone wishes. I normally work 12 hour days anyway, so why change now? We can cut or cuss after classes to our little ol' hearts content. I can stand it if you can. I have always believed in making sawdust at the camps. Kind of like trying on shoes......Plus, we have a lot of new stuff to play with....V Carve Wizard, Photo V Carve and 3D files to cut. This is in addition to our classes. I think we will be hard pressed to do all we want to do without some after dinner time. And, speaking of, I have reservations at Doc's (Oklahoma's BEST BBQ) at 6:30 on Friday for about 20 folks. James, Bill, Gary, Joe and I are gonna' test it out on Thursday and make sure it is OK for the rest of you.
Just clue me in what you want to do or try, and we will see what we can do.
Really need to know number of folks coming, unless you want to eat the cardboard pizza plates, and drink Ada's famous Bird Mill Springs water......
Let's see where this will go...

Ken,

Perhaps I should bring examples of shaped letters in stages of production the process. If the router isn't too busy, perhaps we could do some. Even without the router I can go over the steps where anyone can be an expert.

Doug is really going out on a limb this year, with preperations, and arrangements. I know he would really appreciate letting letting know who is coming.

Events like this, with guests presentations, food and refreshment, usually have a price tag on them. Doug has devoted a great deal of time, energy and funds on his own. We owe him our appreciation and respect. I can't imagine doing what he has done for us in the past with no financial reward.

Lets do our part and let him know if your coming as soon as possible.

I had sent Doug an email letting him know there would be four of us from NW Arkansas. Hopefully he got it. Anything you want to cover would be great Joe. Trying to give you a little feed back on the topics you've suggested. We can't fit in everything this year without doing away with sleep completely or brain overload. Have to leave something for next year anyway! ;-)

Doug, If anything we can help with, let me know.
