I am looking for help in creating an 'engraved' insignia on my Rocking Horse stands. At the moment we brand the wood to achieve part of what we want.

The b/w image is from Coral draw.
Inside the circle on one 'plaque' we punch a serial number, unique to each horse.
On the other plaque we would like to put a small customised message ('to Gerald from Grandma' sort of thing, or the horses name)
We would like to keep the inscribed circles.
The diameter of the circle is 75mm (3"), the capital letters are 8mm (1/3") high. Raised letters would look cool, but I dont know if that is possible this size. They would be cut in hardwood, probably Beech.
We also do 4 smaller blocks that cover the end of the swing irons in the hoof rail, about 40mm (1 1/2") across.
Any help in how to go about producing the file, what bit to use, how dep to cut, at what speed to cut would be greatly appreciated.
It will be a PRT96 (when it arrives, 23rd now
), with a router, not a spindle.
Looking good is more important than how long the job takes.
Thanks
..............Mike
