I had been using Casmate to create sign layouts and then import them (as .dxf files) into an older version of Vector to create the shop bot files. When I updated my computer to Windows XT I also updated to vector XT Now I am haveing some problems creating the shop bot files. Is anyone using Casmate and Vector XT? Can you give me any tips on making it work for me?

Thanks

George, we manage to import all sorts of DXF's into Vector - what problems are you having?

Mail me a sample dxf and I'll check if my Vector opens it.

(One of the problems that stumped me for days, was that Vector would refuse to open a dxf if another application already had that dxf open. ie. Vector will not open a second copy. No error messages, just a point-blank refusal)

Edited to say that we have Vector 9.4 - we do not have XT - so I might not be able to help after all.

Gerald, I have no trouble importing the DXF files, it's when I make the shop bot NC files that I have had trouble. I had been using an older version of Vector for 3-4 years and no problems. When I switched to Vector XT there were some unwanted J3 commands in the NC file. It would jog to a new point with the cutter in the z down position. some of the file looks fine and then there is a number of lines that have all these strange J3 Commands. Can't figure it out.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
George

Since I have only got Version 9.4, which you say works fine, I will not be able to help you. Would suggest that you go across to this forum (http://www.imsrv.com/discus/messages/12/12.html?1081531834). Good luck!

George, your solution may be in the other thread (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/messages/401/3531.html?1081566513#POST13847) with the same question.
