2.2 spindle and air drill mounting

Is there a work around for the low current plug hitting the mounting cage of the air drill.
I've reread the instructions , but the plug holds the cage back from meeting its mounting holes.

If I install the cage upside down it would fit (slant side up)
I can't think of any reason not to do this.....unless someone else can, i will.
