man what a pain. everything is in the way. the boot needs to extend past the spring bar but doing that was a pain. my design before this one had a collar that got the mounting plate just below the bar. but then I found it was hard to change the bit as the plate was somewhat in the way of the collet.
getting the right brush has been a pain. there is a better brush out there that is flexible but till I have worked it out I did not want to invest in their 150.00 min order.
I ended up extending the boot part to get it to clear the back bar. this uses a fair amount of extra plastic though.
it's hard to see but there are two rows of brushes. the inner ones is about 1" long and the outer is 4" long. the inner helps keep the longer brushes out of the way of the dc and the bit.
I think 3" may be a better overall choice. if you want to vacuum the table off you don't want the brushes laying down on the table.
