I read on here once about a type of spray foam adhesive that is good for holding down difficult parts. It's used around the edges. I've searched the archives for the last couple of hours and only found a reference to "Great Stuff" insulation being used. Is there something better or is the Great Stuff as good as anything? I want something that will hold securely and clean up easily. Thanks.

Charlie...
That, I am sure, was posted by the amiable Dr. Joe Crumley and was in the Singmaker section. Do a search there and I am sure you can find it.

it was "great stuff pro" 20oz cans using the "pro 13" dispenser gun.
Believe Ken Zey posted a jpg of it about 8 months ago

Super-77 has been a great friend for holding down tiny parts. I have written elsewhere on how I use it. So far it has never let go of a part I was machining.

Dana, Super-77 is great stuff - how do you get it to release the part?

I've only used it once myself. I cut some knobs from 1" acrylic block. I left the paper on one side of the acrylic and coated that with '77. Worked really well.

I'd like to try it on something like .062 or thinner 6061-T6 aluminum, but I need to get it to release without bending the material.

Gene read my earlier posts.. I super77 a part to HDPE which is like Teflon. It prys up easily and then cleans up with Naphtha.

I have cut some really tiny stuff that way (0.5"x0.5" or so). Big stuff holds better.
