I've been working on developing guitar archtop files using a probe to capture the surface with the vision of using Millwizard to do the cut file. I've done a few probe sessions and have started to get the process figured out... and yesterday I did a few test cuts using Millwizard to develop the cut file.
The problem I'm having is how to get the center seam exactly postioned. Guitars use book matched surfaces and it has to be exact to look right. I also need to control positioning of the blank so I can accurately cut the back side to match.
One variable to the process I think is the boarder that Millwizard can add as part of the "Strategy" screen. So far in three tries I cut the blank 1/2 to 3/8 of an inch off center.
I hope this is clear what I'm trying to do... any ideas would be helpful.
Thank.... Ed Lysne
