I will be cutting 400 sheets of 3/4 melomine and need to know what bit. I have a 96x60 prt alpha with a 5hp spindle, and my wood rep told me to use a diamond bit and i will get 3 times the life out of it. So any help will be greatly welcomed. ( the parts are large and I have a 30hp vac)

how much are the diamond bits and how much are the carbide...if the diamond bit is more than 3x more...then you have to figure out if it is worth your time to change the bit less often. I know in the past I've been able to get 1/2 Amana straight flute carbide tipped steel bits for $12 in bulk.
