Well I guess everybody wants to keep small pieces of plywood, MDF, Acrylic, HDU in other woods as well as many of you guys I don't have the corage to put all my small parts in trash. So I did this to keep as many as I can....I hope you guys like the idea. The drawers slide very easy with teflon bloks in the bottom

I think you must be the only one to hoard small scraps of wood. I am sure no one else around hear does that lol. great solution to the problem.

Great idea for the teflon as it is great for sliding applications. It has the lowest co-efficient of friction of any plastic. Someone told me a great place to get teflon is http://hightechplastics.com/

That is a good use of space.

Come to think about it I have an empty (spare) 55 gallon fiber drum for my dust collector under my bot taking up almost the same amount of space.

I feel saving scraps of value is the right thing to do provided they can be turned into $$. The point to throw them out is when they are starting to accumulate to the point where they are costing more to store than they will ever make.

From time to time I clean out my scrap bin of generic species, rip everything down, and glue them up into lamination's for cutting boards etc... Anything too short to use gets sold or given away as kindling.

You're just not right in the head, I don't know how you'll ever find anything if it's all in one place and neatly arranged. How do you expect to trip over it? How are you going to search for a hour then give up and cut a new sheet to end up with more leftovers that when you go to put away you find the orignal piece you were looking for? You are missing out on a significant part of "shop experience".

I don't save scrap... I just keep tons of extra parts around that I don't know where they go yet.
