I received my new probe today and have experimented using it. If I use any of the tips included and set the resolution to anything less than 1/8" the probe will quit while making a SBP. file. I have only tried to make a file that is a 2D, not a 3D. It will stop midway and give absolutely no reason why it quit. It seems to work okay if I set the resolution more than the 1/8" but not less. I have a PRS Alpha that is 4 months old, if that helps. Anyone have a hint as to why?

Set the resolution higher - to something like .5 to start. Then if that works, pull it down to .25 resolution (the size of the circle it makes when 2D probing). You don't really want to use a setting when 2D probing lower than about .25".

Brady, That is exactly what I was doing today. I get it to work when I set the resolution at .25 and it works 90% of the time at .125. I thought that setting was for the amount of travel it would move along an axis instead of the size of the circle it would make. Maybe I am wrong. I have even had it work at .1 and then turn around and do the exact same "pattern" without changing a setting or moving the model and had it stop midway. I just wonder why it stops when it just made the exact same file??
