I am engraving a board and am looking at going from 1/8 in. to 5/8 in. I have done it already creating boxes and enlarging the depth little by little was wondering if there is an easier way??

Thanks

Set your tool depth under tooling at the depth you want each pass to go down and set your total depth on the main screen your desired depth of the finish pass.

The software should take care of the rest.

That is if I understand your question.

I am thinking you are just using partworks and want a flat bottom.

If the software is different or you want the bottom at a ramp, post that and someone will help.

If I understand correctly this could also be done using the fluting toolpath.

quote:Fluting Toolpath
Fluting is a special toolpath type for cutting tapered grooves often known as ‘Flutes’ by ramping the cutter into and out of the material

Perfect for:

Woodworking and solid surface machining.
Flutes on columns and fireplaces
Drainage grooves on kitchen sink and shower units
Options for ramping in and out to create unique results
Fluted toolpaths can also be projected onto flat and curved 3D projects.

Perfect for engraving fine detail onto curved 3D shapes
