View Full Version : Protecting VFD from dust.

This is my first post, but I've been lurking for a while. I'm in the final stages of getting my Alpha together. The electrician just stopped by to put together a shopping list of supplies needed to wire the control box and the colombo.

He looked at the VFD and said "what are you going to do to protect this unit from dust?" I can't recall anyone bringing up this on this board. Does anyone have thoughts on this? He was saying that he'd never installed a VFD without it being protected from dust (as he rubbed his finger through the thin layer of fine dust stuck to my walls). Dust protection isn't even mentioned in any of the manuals.

I use my air hose to blow the dust off every few weeks. So far, it's worked fine.
