Hey,
A group of us are cutting LinkerLogs at the end of July to donate to a school near Angus Hines in Smithfield, VA. We've got 5 ShopBotters so far but the more the merrier, so if you're interested in helping out in a "distributed manufacturing" project you can find out the details on the LinkerLogs forum at:

We're doing the cutting for Angus' school tomorrow and there are new files available for the folks that are cutting...the link is at http://www.linkerlogs.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=63
If the rest of you are REALLY bored, I'll be cutting in the morning and will turn on the webcam at http://cam.shopbotwiki.com/ and Angus will cut in the afternoon and will be broadcasting at http://www.angushines.com/webcam/webcam.html ...not sure about the rest of the guys.

The Linker Log cutting went well Google Analytics shows 341 unique page views during the time I was cutting.
And you can find a few picks of the new shapes here:

Remember to copy the whole link including the N06 part because this forum dosn't translate the newer links very well.

Cutting the second sheet now. No real issues. Just slow with a million little tabs cut out.

I worked till 9pm last night. I know it sucks right. Anyhoo, I'm cutting the last sheet tonight. Then I will clean up the 100 or so parts.
Then the kids will all smile and be jubilant and happy and appreciative ... :p

Hey Joe,
Did you use the sbp files or create new toolpaths from the PartWorks files?

Bill, I didn't have a 3/8 bit so I recreated the cut files (in aspire) for 1/4 @ 5ips and .25 bite per pass.
I think I need to revisit my ramping & plung speeds to speed up the cutting time. Brady has written about it about 20 times. It must be important. :o

OK, all the files are cut and I need to clean up the edges.
I wanted to post some of my experience with the lurkers.

So if you look at the first two which are arguably less complex than the last and look at the elapsed time. So here is the rundown.
first 2
xy speed 5ips
z .5
on the VR sheet the settings were All the ramp rates were .1, the 3DRThreshold 100, MDTC .1, SCS 65 ....
Last file was cut after revisiting Brady's post regarding the ramp values.
http://www.shopbottools.com/BradysTricks.htm#Ramping & this post http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/messages/29/26478.html?1232115763
Last file
xy speed 5ip

Thanks for everybody's help in getting this project done.
All the parts look awesome. Look forward to doing it again sometime in the near future.
I'm off to the school on Monday to donate them.
I would go this week and handle it, but, due to a couple of ideas I got at SB this morning I have a couple of designs to build and take pics of first.
