I have my plenum setup for 4 zones. When cutting things smaller than 4 x 8, shut off unused zones, mask areas not used. If there is a lot of lateral suction loss, instead of masking unused zones, would it make sense to cut spoilboard into 4 pcs, and seal all the edges of the separate pcs? This way, the 4 zones are truly separated, and you wouldn't have to mask the unused areas? Except in the zone you are using, if the item being cut is less than the size of the zone? Anybody do any testing for lateral losses through the spoiloboard? Or am I making more work for myself than necessary?

I find the loss to be more than I will accept.

Look at my articles and you will see how I fixed the problem........ I use a .25" cutter and cut the bleeder at the zones and all the way down to the grid.

Look at the picture of the vac-stack and you will see the lines on the bleeder. I use fiberglass resin available at my local Advance Auto to fill the cuts. Duct tape on the sides keeps it from running out and onto the floor until it sets up.... 10 mins.
