Some time ago, either on this forum or on the ArtCam Pro forum I saw an application where a laser was used to re-create an image inside inside a block of clear acrylic. Ran into a friend this weekend who has an application where this would be a great ans. I've tried all sorts of searchs and come up blank. Can anyone direct me to the appropriate site on this one.

Not acrylic, but crystal. See this page (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD%2CGGLD:2004-43%2CGGLD:en&q=CRYSTAL%2B3D), also in the right column.

A friend of mine works for an art glass company that also does 3-d images inside blocks of acrylic. It uses 3 lasers and where the 3 beams converge the heat causes small fragmentation or "points". All CNC conrolled of course. Someday I'd love to get over there and watch the process.
