I'd like to see a nice set of knockers...for the front door and around the back apt door.

I've seen some big knockers that looked like they were made out of brass and were real ornate with a lot of detail almost like the whatchamacallit on the front of sailing ship like a mermaid.

I've also seen some small knockers that looked like they were made from a aluminum or a pot metal that tended to chip and not hold up.

I don't suppose to you can make any knockers out of wood?
I have seen some knockers that looked like they were made of wood but had a piece of metal implanted into the striking head so you got that metal on metal sound when you slapped the knockers on to the striker plate.

I bet you could probably use that sculpt nouveau to make the knockers look old or brass finish.
This looks like one more project to add on to the "to-do" list for this new project i'm working on.
Would you suggest that it might be better to make a mold and cast it out of metal or try it out of wood?
