I just recieved my custom 5 x 12 x 24 router. Happy Day! Untill I realized I have no idea how I'm going to make a table so big that will be rigid. I will also consult Shopbot but I would like some ideas as well to get me going. Should I find some I - beams to make sure it's straight? How big does the TABLE have to be to accomidate the mechanics? Where can I get those adjustable feet things? or do I need them?

there have been a number of solutions for rigid tables presented (check the keyword search function). the most important question is 'do you really need 0.001" flatness?' if you're cutting out small parts, you can accomodate being out of square by 1/16" over 4'. for some engraving though, 0.005" is the full depth of cut and z-height variance of 20% might be significant. if you're serious about rigidity, bolt it to a concrete slab with adjustable standoffs every 8 to 12". if the floor is too low, you can always pour a workbench.
