I probed a sash and apparently it has over the 5 million lines of code which Shopbot limits the number of lines to 5 million or less. So apparently I need to split the file to cut, but I havn't a clue as to how I do it. Is it done in Shopbot or in PartWorks? After they have been split what will the process be for making the files able to be cut?

I'll appreciate any guidance you can give me.

Thanks

Your limitation is RAM on your shop computer. Upgrade the RAM (which is cheap these days) or create your toolpath file in PWorks...which will entail importing the scanned SBP into PartWorks, creating a toolpath, and then saving the resulting SBP. Then, pull down the Splitter from SB Labs (http://www.shopbottools.com/LabFiles/FileSplitter.htm) and split the file into as many chunks as you need. Each file will run until it has completed its 'chunk' of code. The next successive file is run right behind the first, so it's pretty straight forward.

As a side note, if you find that your probed file has some data in it that you want to get rid of or smooth out, find someone with Aspire or ArtCAM to clean things up and get you a nice clean file. No method of digitizing is without even a little cleanup to get a perfect part.
