Looking for a 1/8" downspiral with a 3/4" or longer cutting length. Do they make such a tool?

Dave,

Grizzly has 1/8 down spiral, 1/8 shaft w 1/2 cutting length. That the longest I remember seeing. C1480 at $14.95.

I get my cutter from them and they make what I need and at a great price too.

Quality is super.

I can list 50 companies that make 1/2" cutting length but I can't find a 1/8" downspiral that will cut all the way through 3/4" ply.

Ed,
I have looked at them and could not find any cutting lengths of 3/4" or more. Do you have to special order them?

Dave, and others.

Centurion Tools has not made their new website go live yet and it may be a while for that. Until they do, please call or email Fred or Ken as they will be able to make you just about anything carbide you need.

I hope you realize that the reason so few make them is their lifespan is going to be very, very short!

How is their lifespan going to be shorter than the 2" cutting length up spiral 1/8" cutters? I have them and they have lasted for awhile without incident. I would just like to get a longer 1/8" downspiral is all.

Down spiral will pack the dust around the bottom of the tool. Extra lateral forces on a tool under 1/4" are going to break it easier. The smaller gullet of the tool also means no where for the dust to go and you keep recutting the dust. That means shorter tool life as well.
