I will be cutting 3/4" Oak plywood, Solid oak carving, and signs. What bits would you buy? Where do you get your bits? Are there sanding bits that you can get for solid wood sanding?

I would start by ordering the Starter Bit Kit (#13699 ~ ShopBot Starter Bit Package – 1 ¼” planing bit, V-bit, straight bits, upcut and downcut) directly from ShopBot. It is an excellent assortment of bits to get you going in many materials, both 2D & 3D.

As far as where to get bits, there are a zillion sources. Be sure to search this site for previous posts that will answer your questions before posting a new one...I think you'll find this board a wealth of information! I find that searching this forum by using Google to be more efficient than the built in search function.
