I doubt it. I got a call last week from a marketing company that wanted to get me in the top of all searches. only 199.00 a month and 199.00 to set it up. I did a search for the ir company and I could only find their web page. seems they don't use their own service.

That's what I thought.
A buddy of mine in Mass was using them for his replacement window business.
Worked for him-2 years ago.Its a bit different now.

Thanks for the input.
Need to use my limited resources wisely.

This morning they were advertising Service Magic on the Akron Radio station I listen to.

ServiceMagic can be a good option for service-type businesses that need a steady stream of leads to keep jobs coming in. It's strictly a numbers game, these types of businesses count on closing a certain percentage of their sales calls (often a third or less). SM plainly states that they expect about 1 lead in 10 to produce a paying customer and that supposedly the cost of leads is set to take that into account.

I don't think it is the best option for most cabinet shops as the time spent chasing leads can be significant. I think most businesses that are successful with it have a full-time salesperson to go on all the sales calls. I signed up for our closet business. We got a mix of questionable leads and decent leads from people with real jobs. I've turned it off for now as we have more leads coming in from web searches and referrals than we can handle.

From what I read, when you stop using them they will post on the web that you are no longer accepting customers, and will steer your potential customers to them.

Apparently they are really good at making this search come up way over and above your web site.

I read a number of pages of these posts, and it sounds like a complete rip off. I understand they are in Canada now...

Too many people complain about taking money they are not entitled to off their credit cards, not able to get refunds, carpenters getting plumbing leads and charged up to $50 per lead, leads that are dead, calling the leads and being told they are over a year old and the lead has been harassed by way too many tradesmen calling about work that does not exist... and on and on...

Watch out!
