Im trying to v carve in .1 inch plastic ( you know the kind that shows light at the cut edge, I'm guessing Acryllic, but not sure, getting some melting with a 1/2 in v bit at 12000, tried air, improved it, but not good enough, what type of bit should I use, or should I use end mill and carve single line font? any thoughts?

Nev,
One trick is to knock off the very tip of a V bit. I learned that after gravity testing one of my newer carbide bits,(in fact the ONLY one I had of the right size to do a "tomorrow"job...). So I used it and the results were better than ever! The "flat" gave a cleaner cut than the complete V, and it also gave a nicer effect when some light was passed through it...
I ran my bit at 10,000 which is probably slower than most people would, but I was getting good results in both the Cyro flourescent, and also the "imported" versions as well.Could have something to do with the voodoo light juice they use to create the "lit" edges...
