Anyone know how to divide large toolpaths to allow email delivery

how large you are talking... you could use a drop site.. where you can upload the file and then send the address to whomever it is going to ... or you can use winzip.... that gives you an option to set the size of the file..

the easiest way is to use dropbox. you add it to a public folder and then right click choose dropbox and then choose copy link and email them the link. dropbox is free gives yo0u 2 gigs of free storage and it is fast and very good for backup and syncing between computers. if you use it use my referral link you get extra space too.

Guys,
Charles is trying to send me the mirror frame file for a question I posted in 'looking for shopbot owner" thread...he was able to send the roughing file ok at 548,000 lines but is having trouble sending the finishing file. With dropbox maybe he can combine all 3 files to a single toolpath.

email limits depends on the host. so you never know what size you can send.
I would think a simple way would be to copy and paste sets of lines into a series of smaller files. Label the files something like file-1.sbp, file-2.sbp, etc. Once you send all these smaller files the recipient could open all the files and copy and paste them back into one larger file in the correct order.

7zip will also do split files. 7zip is open source freeware.

Thanks everyone,, the Hotmail host seems to be our problem. I use Yahoo.com and the files are well within the size limit.
I opened a dropbox account,, so we will see how things work out.
Thanks again everyone.
File downloaded with dropbox. Thanks Charles and everyone for the help.

Gary has the right answer with rapidshare. Just zip it up and put it on your dsktop, go to rapidshare its a quick upload then send the recipient the upload link, couldn't be easier.
It has a 200 meg limit but no file will be anywhere that large.
Unless you are sending the model as a stl. If you are just sending the toolpath well that is just basic text and should compress down to kilobytes so you could email it.
Like charles says we want to see a finished project!

So about 12 hrs total? Nice work!

Thanks,
