I am thinking about buying another rental property and the basement has 9' ceilings and I might either put a shop down there or another apartment.
I want to look into some type of solar water heating to run pex under a plywood floor to heat the floor and maybe some other types of solar panels and wondered if you could recommend some specific systems and information to get me started in my research. Thanks!

I was looking for specific info and advice on different types of solar with prices. I figured I would get straightforward answers and advice from Morris rather than some salesman wanting to sell me whatever. I didn't see equipment specific info there though. I know virtually nothing about solar at this point.

I've emailed him and he emailed me back pretty quickly. Seems like a pretty straight forward guy. This link is something I would like to try at some point.

Jack, I don't know where you're at, but there may be an organization in your state that promotes solar energy. We have one in Kentucky, the Kentucky Solar Partnership. http://www.kysolar.org/ I consulted them once and they came out on site and did an assessment and made general recommendations, all at no charge. There was no sales involved, simply factual information that you could do with what you want.

I'll check your link maybe there are links to same organizations in other states there.

Our town came out with a fund for low interest loans for solar equipment and i'm trying to see what an average system might cost and how to qualify. Thanks.

Eric,
Thats very interesting , i wonder if you have to focus that at the sun or if that type of temp readings would be all day long? Any idea where i can get any more info on this? Thanks Gene

Jack,

It was working earlier, it appears to be down at the moment. I would try again later.
