I've got a up coming job to cut letters out of 1/2" Acrylic (Black). I have a PRS 48x96" table.
Questions:
(1) Feed Rate?
(2) Step Down?
(3) Bit to use for best results?

What type of finish do you want on the edges? When I cut them I can get by with a few tool marks and do not need to polish them. I normally cut at .80 IPS and only .62 per pass at about 10000 rpm. I haven't tried cutting any with a spindle yet just a PC router.

Check the Onsrud 63 series, here's the pdf from them. I had variable experience cutting acrylic until I began using these...now pretty consistent with few problems. They are also great for many other materials including aluminum.
