This is my first small Aspire project requested by some family and friends. I recently purchased a lot of wood of various types but am having trouble telling what all I have. The wood used here had a reddish/burgundy look to it (3rd pic, second sign - unfinished) but looks fairly dark after the Natural stain/sealer. Any guesses as to the type?

Looks like cherry.

If I were in the same room with the sawdust I'd know within a few minutes. Sadly, I am allergic to cherry but I love the look of it.

I'm guessing crotch or flame mahogany.

Nice eagle - is that one of the included clip-arts?

It could be red birch.Birch has a similar grain pattern as cherry.

I bought the wood from a guy who's father (since passed) was a wood-worker. Some of the wood is 30-50 yrs old and has been sitting in dry storage for all that time. He thought several of these stacks were walnut, but also thought that some of it was cherry. A bunch of it is coffee-tree wood, but that section looks more like oak.

David, yes the eagle is included with Aspire.

That looks like "quilting"around the eagle. Maybe quilted cherry?
