I need help. I have to make fixturing that requires drill bushings. I need over 1,200 bushings in a few sizes. Does any body know where I can get cheap steel bushings. They all have to be 18mm OD x 18mm long. My steel working suppliers are to expensive for bushings($8-12 ea). I also need them by 10/31/06.

McMaster-Carr is where we get them from; they have bushings for soft material. They also ususally give a price break after 10, 20,etc. pcs.

www.mcmaster-carr.com (http://www.mcmaster-carr.com) search: metric drill bushings It doesn't show metrics but you could probably substitute for a fractional if you are pressing into wood.

edit: Ouch! it looks like they may not be any less than what you're paying already! One thing I will vouch for is delivery - they are usually pretty prompt although with an order like that, THEY may have to buy from your suppliers

May be worth a look though!

Good luck!

I've called these folks and used the inserts they sell to make special drilling fixtures.

Don't know what they have in sizes though.

On that many pieces they may be able to help.

Thanks for all the support. I have found a company a few miles from our China plant that will make them. Since I'm going back to China after I get back from bowhunting, having them made there will also save me on shipping costs.

Thanks Frank
