Nut plates are for 3/8-NC bolts.
I used the SB to machine/drill the nut plate holes.

Very nice George. I as well started with a CarveWright machine and it doesn't even compare to a Shopbot.

That's one great looking table surface. I think you need some grooves in it now! Set that z just a little lower....

George,

I have been wondering about how things were going for you. I am glad to see that you are up and ready to go. I'll need to call you and stop by sometime. I was very impressed with what you were doing with the CarveWright and it will be fun
to what you willdo with the ShopBot.

George..Very nice machine and very well houekeeping of your workshop... I wonder you have chosen a thick beautiful maple wood for the table top...Is it cheap there?...I will advice to place 1/2" MDF sacrificial sheet on top of Maple wood..

Thanks for showing the machine and work you did for the first time on it..

Robert,
Thanks for the comments and I would love to have you visit my shop/garage any time.
The other half of the garage is used by the wife to park her car. Now if I could just think of a way to get her to park it in the street.

Khalid,
I have successfully used 1/4 inch peg board rather than 1/2 inch MDF. It works great so far.
I also plan on using some glued-up Aspen boards (3/4 X 24 X 48) in the near future as a spoil board.
The Maple blocks came from McMaster-Carr. They are 1.75 X 24 X 48 and about $150.00 each.
I could not find any good hardwood plywood in my area and McMaster delivers almost overnight.
I surfaced the Maple Blocks after mounting. I only needed to remove about .015 inch to get them flat after bolting to the table. I expect to never need to surface them again

Given the low humidity in Brigham City, you are probably correct.

Randall,

You are correct about the humidity, it is not a problem here in the Top of Utah.

By the way I love your comedy/drama carving shown behind you on your SBTalk Profile.
