Is partworks 2.5 the same as Vcarve 5.5? I just upgraded to the new version I was sent the free link but I don't see some of the new tools described for Vcarve Pro 5.5.

They're the same, all the new features are in 2.5.

Which tools do you think are missing?

You may be thinking of tools unique to Aspire

I figured it out and now I see the new tools. I have an indexer I have never used it looks like with the new tutorials I may have to try it out.

I get the error message, "an invalid argument was encountered", upon my first attempt at using the new 2.5 version. Anyone else have this problem?

I received the same message when I tried to save a tool path in v.2.5. Just copy your post processors over from v.2.0. Assuming that is where you are getting the message.

Ok, have to ask a dumb question. I have been offline for awhile moving from Colorado to Minnesota so may have missed something. When did this 2.5 version become available and how did you get notified???

It's been out at least a couple of weeks and I got notified via email.

Now that I have played with it a little I like the upgrades and I got stumped for a while on the post processor file thing also. I like the scisor tool and the fillet tool for rounding corners. I also used the T bone fillet for the 1st time and it was handy.

What I would like to learn is how to draw parts and then assemble the parts to make a 3D model that is over my head at this time.

I also want to learn how to use the indexer I bought with my machine almost 2 years ago. I spend so much time just making parts for my small business that I don't get time to experiment and learn new things. My business is a side business and time is a premiuim for me.
