Hi All
I'm trying to make some curved crown molding. I can make the straight part ok i just tipped the profile to the right angle and extruded a section. now i was trying to make the curved part pick up where the straight one left off. i gave it the right coordinates for the center and rotation. when it extrudes it it seems to be flipped on its back and moved up a few inches in the z

Hey John,

It's hard to tell from your PW screenshot, but is one of the profiles in the top picture on the inside of the profile, and the other on the outside?

That's a very neat use of the Extruder...I've never tried extruding anything that way. When you get it figured out, how about sending me the info on your method and some pictures and I'll add them to the Extruder instructions (and the wiki).

Hi Bill
i think i got it. i tried shifting the profiles to compensate with better results but still not perfect. then i switched the profile toolpath to the outside and voila

P'etty cool John!

Please do post pictures of the machined molding. How thick is this piece?

Posting the steps from PW to Extruder utility at the SB Wiki would great also.
