Angus- what kind of aircraft are they flying that has that kind of operating altitude?

Most acft don't go up there because of the consequences of a depressurization.

Just curious..

Dana-

Aircraft could be something that the boys at MIT designed, Bill Young cut and Angus is flying to the AWFS show to help ShopBot out with all of the money they will make out there........

Or not I guess-

Most operate at around 30-33K. VIPs like Angus are 'above' all that drama. LOL.

Yeah yeah, what us fleshbags come up with is mildly amusing at times, but to return to serious matters, has your shopbot been up there in the clouds?

My lady sure has. Maybe I should have named her Amelia rather than Embla ...

Ok. I've got to be the first to post from an iPhone... While connected to an EEG... And my assignment today is to sleep every 2 hours for 30 minutes or so. I'm doing so well I'm thinking a new career is in order. If anyone needs a professional sleeper let me know.

So. Any other firsts out there?

Henrick, talk about first.. Yours has to be the first bot that has it's own suite complete with art work and ambiance lighting.

Haha, yeah. The espresso machine ain't installed yet, y'know, when it is...

But this reminds me, I was talking to my nephew who is studying these things, just brainstorming about a fun promotional material emphasizing the human and accessible properties of the Shopbot.

One idea was to dress up the 'suite' to look just like a IKEA-style staged living room and plant a family in there, mom and pop and a couple of kids watching TV or playing or something. Completely normal, just that they all have hearing protection and, oh, smack in the middle of the room is a 96x120 shopbot cutting away. "Shopbot - CNC you can live with"

Eh, I liked the "CNC DISCO!" idea better anyway ...

I see many possible themes. Disco ball and a guy in a white suite!

Yeah, once one realizes that the shopbot is really just a huge stop motion automata, the possibilities for creative mischief are rather endless.

That it can produce sound makes it even better. At times when I have my iPod on I have noticed that the shopbot 'noises' during jogs can sound quite good to the beat I'm listening to. It seems to work particularly well with French electronica for some reason; acts like Daft Punk, Justice, etc.

The Justice song "D.A.N.C.E" is best so far, and it also has the line (sampled from Jackson five?) "the way you move is a mystery" which just fits like a smäck, as we say in Sweden.

It would be fun to get an animation guy and a sound producer locked in there for a day or two and see what happened. Just sayin'.

Hey, has Angus arrived yet?
